10" Dob cool down time

What is the cool down time for a 10" Dob :? ?.

Depends on the conditions mate. I'd give at least an hour, two to be sure.

One of my friends used to start observing brighter DSOs after half an hour....

So for better cool down maybe I need to look at a truss (Flex Tube / Light Bridge).

Fact is I've been working out the time I spend observing & setting up. Now my kit lives in the shed, so I usually setup 40mins before I go out to start. I then on average spend 1.45mins out!.

I'd guess from a shed 40 mins would be fine, it must be reasonably close to ambient in there most nights?

Rob, would it matter what design the tube is? I figure it's the mirror that needs the cooling not the tube. I guess if you really want to get that the cooling done quickly then fit a fan.
