Saturn 02/06/2018 Cassini Division and moons

Recommended Posts

Just got back in from a great session, despite all channels having forecast 100% cloud coverage.

Seeing was a bit hit and miss, but I saw the Cassini Division coming in and out at 170x in an 8" dobsonian.

Saturn had a nice green creamy tint and some hints of cloud bandings.

This photo is very close to what I saw.

Photo removed.

Moons:

Titan and Dione were direct vision objects.

Enceladus, Tethys, Rhea were averted vision objects.

Mimas wasn't visible to me.

I didn't think a small object such as Enceladus could be seen from such a long distance away. Really chuffed ?

Photo removed.
