Recommended Posts

Hello,

I would like to ask for some recommended deep sky targets for visual observing in February, probably from 1:00am to 5:00am.

Telescope: 6 inch reflector

Location: Equator or Northern Hemisphere, dark skies

Time: February, 1:00am to 5.:0am

Direction: South

Thank you.

The Orion Nebula will be low, by 1:00 AM, but the galaxies in Leo: M65, M66, NGC 3628, M95, M96, M105, and NGC 2903 are all within reach. The Eskimo nebula in Gemini should still be good, as would be a load of galaxies around Ursa Major and nearby constellations (M51 M81, M82, M101, M106, M108, M109) (although that would be northwards). The Virgo galaxies should ge great towards the end of that session.
