Cooling a dob

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I have recently read that up to 2 hours is good for cooling down a dob for a nights viewing which would mean leaving it in the garden for that long. There is a fair bit of wildlife in and around my garden as I back onto a golf course so anything could happen in 2 hours. My Flextube 300 came with 2 covers , one for each mirror. Is it ok to leave the covers on when coolimg the scope down to avoid anything falling/ crawling in or does it affect the cool down time too much.

Vlebo
