Meteors + Help identifying - AllSkyCam 13th Nov

Recommended Posts

hi

So bought an AllSky Camera (Oculus) from FLO recently, just getting used to imaging the night sky. Plan to do a review soon, in meantime been having a play, last night was about 8th time used, here are some images from last night, all 10 sec exposures:

Meteor 1 image was the best and favourite:

Meteor 2 - assume not a satellite:

Meteor 3: think this is meteor, not a satellite flaring:

Now got a couple of frames where a flash appears in a localised area, but adjacent frames either side show nothing. Any ideas what these could be, each appears different magnitudes? These happen every so often on some nights, noticed a couple (if any) per night. When ive been visually observing, thought had noticed very occasional flashes before. Have raw files in FIT format, these are PNGs.

Few thoughts: (all frames 10sec exposure)

- Dont think plane as would trail in other frames

- doubt sensor noise, have seen some before but tend to be single pixels

- Satellite 'laser' telemetry/ranging/mapping ?

- Very small Meteor or very high altitude meteor?

- welcome any genuine ideas / thoughts

Excellent images, that first beauty is coming directly from Leonids radiant, peak is 17th with little moon interference.  Rain forecasted here unfortunately, hope your skies are clear.  I pick up little flashes on my all sky camera as well, most are small meteors I believe.  Burn up fast.  At 10 sec exp you would be able to tell if its a sat or plane.
