Astronomy distance learning course's

Hi All,

Have seen a few of these + my boss has completed one of them. I'm looking to sign up in September (leicester university).

You never know. I could be qualified at some point in the future!!!! :shock:

I'm currently doing the OU Astronomy course (S282) is a great course, the only problem I'm having is doing the practical work - I much rather be looking through my scopes than measuring the sidereal day or estimating magnitudes

I hear what you saying Gaz.... but working out Jupiters mass or calculating the height of mountains on the moon has a real pull for me!!

Yep, its very interersting Rob, the theory side is great. It also serves as an introduction to Cosmology.

Rob, if you havn't already got one, it's worth getting a half decent scientific calculator like an TI82 or 83.

The maths isn't too bad but a good calculator will save you a lot of time.
