ST80 prices

Hi i am thinking about getting a ST80 and have been looking at some prices.

The Skywatcher ST80 OTA is £119 and the Skywatcher ST80 on a tabel tripod is only £99

Is this the same scope or am i going mad

They might have old stock, or maybe the website is old

I had them for a while, but they sold out pretty quickly when people realised what a bargain they were.

It would be worth 'phoning around to see who's still got stock, I checked with the importers and they are definitely discontinued.

rothervalley optics do the 80 ota for £105 this comes with tube rings where the st80 comes with tripod mount.

I had the same question some time ago. What I found out was that the tabletop version has a plastic focuser (yuk..) , hence the lower price. I would not go for this, if I were you (and I didn't myself ) and rather get the OTA only, which has all-metal focuser and works much better (looks too )
