Is this part of an AZ EQ6

Strange question, but I found the bit of metal imaged below under my less-than-two-week-old Skywatcher AZ EQ6 GT mount this evening.  It's 28mm long (sorry didn't have a ruler to hand.)

I am wondering if anyone recognises it as part of the mount?

I've no idea how or where it could have fallen from; no dismantling has taken place.  It may be from something else entirely but if so I've no idea what.

It looks like half a ferrite clamp like one half of one of these...might have dropped off a cable that it is normally clamped to. Could be wrong of course...

Yup - half a ferrite clamp - you'll find it on the end of your handset cable which plugs into the mount.

All fixed now with a band of insulating tape to hold it closed in the future...

Appropriate...Ferrite is the RF engineer's emission suppression "insulating tape"...
