alacant
Hi everyone. Full moon last night but filter magic allowed me to get this. Quite ghostly. My gf said it reminded her of Turner. Approval indeed! Takumar 135 + Canon 700d.
ollypenrice
A vast area of sky which includes the Crescent nebula. There's a slightly separated patch of nebulosity in the upper left which looks as if it might be worth closer investigation, too. Olly
SteveNickolls
For some time the idea of using widefield images as inspiration for painting have come to mind. Imagine your image reproduced on a 6' by 4' canvass. Cheers, Steve

I think the big refractors at Greenwich came after his death; 1851.
wxsatuser
Considering the full moon that has quite a bit of detail, not to bad for the 700d. A comparison of the same area, almost, 12x600secs Ha.
Herzy
Is the crescent the brightest thing there? I can see the crescent in my single frames, but not any of the rest of the Sadr region...?

I can see the crescent and the hint of a few cloud outlines. I suppose it depends on the moon, the filter and the exposure time. There's nothing in b or g. Here's a single snap with red stretched a bit. HTH ** Ah. Maybe your camera still has the red block filter (the default)?
Herzy
Yes, it isn't modified. I guess I should save this region for later when I have a better camera.
