So you should have an ST4 port and cable on this Guide camera the cable  should plug into your Guide port and a USB cable that plugs into your laptop. 

So set up using only the handset and not using stellarium for the time being, and then start up PHD "on camera" - does it connect OK?  i.e. does it say camera mount no calib at the bottom.  If yes, then stage one is OK.

Then start the looping, - can you see stars - are they in focus?

Check the settings in the brain.  

These are the settings I use in PHD1, and I have no problems.
