Moon with two very clear halos round. It

Every Christmas we go to Tenerife. The skies are very Clear and the stars a amazing site but last year the moon had two colourful halos round it like a rainbow colours yet there was no rain is fine water particle. In the atmosphere that does this or is it a rare site to see. clear skies

These halos appear to be formed by tiny ice crystals in the upper atmosphere, refracting light, producing two halos 22deg and 46deg from the moon (or indeed the sun).
