When I observe the Andromeda Galaxy with my 31mm nagler and my 12" dob it's like I'm only 49,000 light years from it. Still quite a long way of course ....... :rolleyes2:

great view though, at least for the core! :)

I find that anything in the 82 degree + range makes me subconsciously ignore the field stop of the eyepiece. 

I also get the same when binoviewing the moon with anything in the 60 degree + range.

Once you start ignoring (for whatever reason) the field stop of the eyepiece, you start floating in the image...
