Narrowband and astro-dark

There's quite a few narrowband images popping up in the deep sky section.  Is astro-dark not a necessity when shooting narrowband?

Certainly not, I'm only a little further south than you in Kent, and even on the shortest night there's 2.5 hours or imaging to be done

The narrower the bandpass the better. Ha is your special friend.

I've got a 3nm so I'll give it a shot. I had no idea astro dark didn't apply for Ha. For a guide can I go by nautical dark?

This was 12nm Ha. I have just got a 3nm one. Can't wait to try it.

Imaging run ended about 4 in the morning! Definite hints of dawn were visible.
