Baader 10mm BCO vs Meade 3000 9.5mm Japan Smoothie

Hi guys,

Got a little decision to make.  I'm considering the purchase of one of the two eyepieces mentioned in the title.  I would intend to buy them for some high powered (with 2.5x barlow) lunar, planetary and dso (particularly globulars) use.  I fancy having a vintage eyepiece, but I'm not sure if it'll be as good as the BCO for my intended uses. Getting both is not an option as I have limited space in my little grab and go eyepiece case.  Any thoughts?

I don't think the Meade 3k 9.5mm would be as good as the BCO 10mm. The Meade 3K's are nice but the BCO 10 and 18's are a step up again in terms of light throughput and sharpness IMHO. They are as good as some of the very best around, regardless of price.

+1 for the BCO. Better eye relief, better coatings, better contrast:-)
