Powering Celestron AVX mount and related.

  1.  Hi, I've ordered an AVX mount from FLO and intend to power it from a 12v 70Ah leisure battery is there anything I should do to protect the mount?
  2.  I've purchased a BT232 bluetooth adapter and a serial to RJ11 cable so that I can use PHD2 to control the HS wirelessly. I have also purchased a 12v to 5v 1amp stepdown regulator to power from same source (ie. 12v leisure battery). Does this threaten the handset or mount.
  3. If anyone has a better/safer method of controlling the AVX mount wirelessly, would they please advise?
  4. Lastly, Will the mount support a SW 100ED pro refractor?
  5. Many thanks. Yor help is appreciated.

I use a SW 120ED Pro refractor with mine quite happily and get good guiding. I also use it with my C9.25 for planetary imaging. I can't help on the other questions because I use a mains adapter to power it.
