gnomus
I did this in January but remained dissatisfied with a number of elements. I was battling odd reflections in my flats and lights. I am still trying to find a satisfactory solution to these. Anyhow, I tried to draw out faint stuff in the original - that faint stuff probably wasn't there and my efforts just made those gradients worse. This is: 24 x 5 mins R; 24 x 5 mins G; and 23 x 5 mins B. My Lums were unusable. Original effort can be seen here: https://stargazerslounge.com/topic/260969-m45/?do=findComment&comment=2857170
Joel Shepherd
Looks pretty fine to me. :-) Did you synthesize a luminance frame from the RGB or forge ahead without one?

Pompey Monkey
I prefer the original. The re-processed looks a bit clipped to my eyes: you've lost a lot of the faint nebulosity and hints of dust. Maybe there's a happy medium to be found somewhere.
