DSLR & IR Cut Filters..

Looking to take first solar images of the transit in a few weeks.. I have my unmodded 300d. Do I need to get/use a IR Cut filter as well as my solar film (front lens mounted of course) on my frac. Posting here as this is an equipment question really. I thought the DSLR's have a IR Cut built in, but please say if not good enough.

I found an IR cut made no real difference and my 450D is a stage 1 astro mod (main filter removed but the gentker IR/UV one left in). I use it with Bader film, still struggling to get stand out results though!

Ah ok thanks. I've managed to get one for £15 so not much lost if no difference I guess. Found I've got a scuff mark on my solar film though.... Grrrrrr

Keep it to use with planets, it makes a big difference to a webcam.

Watch that scuff - I would request a replacement.
