Checking Collimation

Recommended Posts

Went out tonight to check my collimation using Astro baby's guide and the method of pulling up a bright star and unfocusing it. http://astro-baby.com/collimation/astro%20babys%20collimation%20guide.htm

What I saw was closest to "Atmospheric Turbulance" on what I think was Sirius relatively low in the southern sky after Sunset.  Yet I got BEAUTIFUL views of the moon up to 208x magnification.  I could see craters in craters as sharp as could be.  Bright stars were not the smallest points of light they have ever been for me but ones not visible to my eyes looked fine.  Jupiter was pretty decent though.

Should I try another method or just give it a whirl another night?
