Red dot finder

Hi,

I've got a Celestron nexstar 130slt with the stock red dot finder. I'm finding the red dot finder pretty poor to use and wouldn't mind upgrading, can anyone recommend anything? I'm not really wanting to spend a lot of money so was thinking about a telrad or ......

Any advice appreciated.

Telrad.  First upgrade for any scope.  The Rigel is supposed to be ok too, but there are not many people that don't love a Telrad!

I use a Rigel Quikfinder on my 12" dob. It's function is similar to the Telrad but it's "footprint" on the tube is quite a bit smaller which might suit the smaller tube of the 130SLT rather better than the Telrads. Both are about as good as it gets in the red dot finder / illuminated retuicule finder field and a massive improvement on the stock 130SLT red dot finder.

Or consider a tactical green laser finder that normally mounts on a picatinny rail as found on ebay.  Just don't aim your scope while planes are flying by!  I can't crank my head around any longer to use any red dot/circle finders.
