Need serious help regarding second telescope buying....

Recommended Posts

Hi,
This is Azimul.

I have a Skywatcher Skyliner 150P reflector f.length 1200mm.
With kit:
10mm+25mm Plossl eyepieces,
BST Starguider 5mm,
Revelation 30mm eyepiece 2",
Ostara quality 2x barlow,
2" adapter.

Now, the problem is this telescope weighed more than 27kg. I've to take it from 5th floor to eighth floor roof which is very difficult. Now, I have planned to sell this and buy a new one. Can anybody recommend me something in budget of £ 390~400. I need:
01. To observe planets
02. To observe nebulae
03. Little bit astrophgotography
04. Scared of setting up Equatorial mount

SO, MY REQUEST IS GIVE ME SOME SUGGESTIONS. IT WOULD BE OF GREAT HELP FOR ME. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Could you leave the mount and base of the scope on the roof, under a cover of some sort ?. Then you would only need to carry the tube up and down. The mount and base is a usually heavy and awkward part of the mass produced dobsonians.

Thanks for the suggestion. But I've heard in countries like Bangladesh the weather is full of moisture. So, If i leave the base and mount there is there any chance for fungus attack or damp?

I put wheels under my Z10 and consider it a success.  My rough driveway pavement vibrates things a bit and is rather annoying but if you are in a building they should be fine.  I put on 4 locking casters so two would always be handy whichever way it was spun.
