Fitting rings/collimating?

Hi all,

I'm just in the process of fitting a 21cm dove tail and scope rings to my Nexstar 130slt, what I was wanting to know is, will I need to collimate after doing this?

any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

Newtonians require collimating/checking from time to time so you might as well do it at the same time.

I agree - fitting a dovetail and rings and mounting the scope shouldn't change collimation. But it's worth checking  newtonians anyway before you use the scope pretty much any/every session.
