mount star alignment: live preview canon 1200D

Hi. I'm in the process of switching from the synscan eq6 handset to eqmod.

I'm trying to work out how I shall centre alignment stars (oops, I mean points) with a camera attached but no handset. Is there a way of viewing the star alongside the eqmod window?

A Guide Scope will give you a view if its aligned, PHD has a Bull's Eye option on the viewing screen, a simple Finder scope with a CCD screwed in the back will work....There is also APT...

OK, thanks. And how do I see what the main camera which is attached to the main telescope is seeing?

Canon Utilities allow you to see the Live View display on a PC screen, as well as allowing you to alter exposure, ISO etc.

It's on the CD that came with the camera, or download from Canon UK, USA etc sites.

Ah, yes. Got it. Unfortunately I'm out of spare usb sockets. I've 1 for the webcam and the other for the mount. I wonder if I could use a multi hub usb in one of those?
