EQDIR adapter for EQMOD - Can I shorten ?

Hello,

I have one of the eqmod cables http://www.firstlightoptics.com/astronomy-cables-leads-accessories/hitecastro-eqdir-adapter.html that plugs in to my HEQ5pro mount (think it a RJ11 end). It's too long for me - how easy would it be to shorten ?

Yes exactly what did, mine is hust 4 inches long, you need the rj11 connectors and the crimping tool.

Great - and dare I ask - is that an easy task Libraryman ?

I would wrap it up in rings and put some tape round it, once its cut down making it long again isn't a easy option.....

that is very true, however if you plan it well then in principal you should not need to make it long again.

yes it's very easy, only 3 wires are involved tx, Rx & grd, just copy what you have already in the original RJ11...
