Atik 414ex dark column on dark image

im currently taking darks and thought i would stretch a image. it appears there is a dark column on the right hand side. any ideas what it is?

Hi Dan, I'm no expert but I did once have a column defect on one of my past CCD's. It looked like a sharp thin vertical light grey line. I'm not sure what the slightly darker edge on your dark frame is but it's subtle. Is it there before stretching?

nothing before stretching. hopefully ill find out if its on the lights tonights.

How are you sealing out the light, i used a plastic thread blank on mine..........

its in a big ali flight box

Yeah I think you'll know more after some imaging. Hopefully all is ok.

I did try doing Darks in the Obby with the Dust cap on the scope in the dark but it still let  some light in, i found the blank with the right thread on it this seals it light tight and the resulting Darks very even when stretched to pure white showed no smudges, not sure if the blank came with the CCD or something else over the years....making sure its light tight like a box in a box in a box in a dark room....
