Recommended Posts

Have been using a Intel Duo Core 8 Gig Memory GT 260 Graphics Card (heat pipes only, No Fan) 8 USB Ports, Upgrading to a i5 Quad, 16Gig Memory, Same Graphics Card, New (just delivered) Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250Gb, Existing HD reformatted for extra space, 7 USB Ports ( On the back panel) all USB Item will connect direct to the PC, all Images downloads go direct to the in house PC so the Obby PC just has working software, hopefully this PC will last as long as the Duo Core now in its 3rd winter outside and hasn't given any problems,it should just be a bit faster 20 second  boot up, not 2 minutes like to Duo Core....

Nice one Tinker,

Just be aware that the on board USB ports are usually on the same USB bus and many high speed USB devices (cameras) can flood the bus, also, as this is a new PC, its likely that some of the port will be USB3, & some equipment has issues working correctly (it should work, but...)

i figure the Lodestar, Mount need USB 2 that leaves 2 USB 3's and 3 USB 2's for the more modern Atik CCD,Filter Wheel , Focuser, Keyboard, Mouse to fill the rest.....The MB is a Gigabyte GA-H77M-D3H it loaded with Spare headers.......
