Rosetta nebula

After the issue with the devil horns on the horsehead nebula I thought i would give the Rosetta nebula try for the first time. 

Again any feedback how i could improve the image would be great

it was taken with a 8"SCT and a canon 450d camera with a Astronomik cls filter. Processed useing gimp

There is a bit of noise and the background is a bit red. Overall a great image keep up the work.

The red channel is very dominant. Have you set the top left of the histogram peak to about the same point in each colour channel?

LOL, I was wondering how the heck the Rosette was imaged at this time of year from Brighton... then I saw the date of the post :-)

I will give it another go when it comes round again. This time will be more carefull

Got set up tonight. Planned half hour on Mars then an hour on Crescent.

CLOUDS!  All packed up now. Character formin innit!

Had to abandon my last sub, already getting light and no chance of another 20mins of (near) darkness. So just 4 subs for the 'night'. Birds will be singing in a few minutes :-(
