I bought a used copy of this book from Amazon marketplace (I think it was one of those penny + £2.80 pp jobs).

A fascinating book that trawls throughout history from Classical times to the Arabs,Persians etc.

Also,dating from 1899,it has that sort of learned Victorian prose that I enjoy reading,purely on a literary level.
