Digital camera for basic viewing

Hi all, not sure if this is the right place to put this but here goes anyway. I can always put a link elsewhere if needs be.

I have a xbox webcam modded for astro viewing but it isnt the best although its ok for basic viewing and the moon.

I was looking for something a little cleaner in image quality without busting the bank (ie under a £100) and came accross these two.

Key difference is the MP of the camera and the 3mp seems more versatile as one would expect. Has anyone tried one of these and can they give me any feedback please.

OH and fyi I have looked everywhere for a SPC900 and they are not sold unless you want to pay out over £50 on flea bay. Think I might rather try one of these two if they are thought to be worth it.

Looking at it for £76 the 3mp camera looks very attractive but maybe I am overlooking something. Oh the xbox camera is a 1.3mp unit in case anyone wondered.

I doubt either will give you better results than your current xbox.  The spec for the 3mp camera suggests that it is less sensitive the a Philips SPC900 and the 1.3mp about the same as an SPC900. The video resolution of the xbox live vision webcam is only 640x480, the 1.3mp resolution is only available by interpolation in still image mode https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_Live_Vision
