Rosette Nebula HST Vs RGB VS CFHT

Recommended Posts

The following pics are of the Rosette Nebula

LRGB consists of about 320 min.  80 min (4 x 20) each RGB,  with the RGB binned 2x2.  Taken with Televue np101is

the CFHT and Hubble Pallet  (HST) consists of 50 min Ha (1 x40 and 1x10) and 20 minues of OIII and SIII (1x20).  Just experimenting Taken with Telvue np101is.

The zoomed pic was taken with the Celestron 11" Esdge HD--trying to zoom in on the globules in the upper rim--I obviously missed (this is the right quadrant).  This was before I had a handle on manual slewing to frame a pic.  I am anxious to zoom in on Melotte 15? in the Heart.

Thanks-No these were pre heart--I had just gotten the celestron and the Televue .8x reducer and wanted to experiment.  You should note the same lack of clarity in general, the same limited resolution (but I'm tired of beating that horse).  Seeing is not good enough most times to use the Celestron.  Sessions with that are tough.  Guiding is touchy, the breeze is a problem-Not to mention putting a star in the FOV on the initial goto command.  Hunting around for it is exasperating!  My dream is to make a coffee table book of DSOs with wide shots and zooms--as well as a moon atlas made of images.  I have a moon atlas made with drawings that is roughly the same scale as the Celestron with a .7x reducer and the Skyris 618 camera.  That is why I was talking about dpi and resolution for printing.  However, I have come to accept the fact that I have a LONG road ahead of me before I have to worry about that.  As soon as I get PixinSight up and running again I hope to post some improvements.
