EQMOD and EQDIR connections

I was working on a DIY EQDIR cable to control my HEQ5-PRO mount using my laptop running Carte Du Ciel planetarium software and EQMOD controller. The commonly used interface device is the TTL232R to USB connector. I could not find that connector, so I purchased a TTL2102 to USB thinking that as long as TTL link is achieved, I should be able to control the mount just fine. Thank You, and yes, luckily for the past three nights they've been clear, but the Moon is now half and is like a floodlight. :/ So I am taking my time to organize and prepare myself for the next new moon when I will go out to the countryside and peacefully do astrophotography.
