Hi

This is a widefield image of M34 open star cluster in Perseus. The image was captured from a very dark sky in southern Greece at an altitude of 1440 m.

M34 glimmers just north-northeast of the midpoint between the famous variable star Algol (Beta Persei) and the beautiful double star Gamma Andromedae. M34 is a loose aggregation of stars about 100 million years old. Its 60 members are spread accross a scant of 10 light years of space.

You can see this image here including the technical details

Regards from Greece

Konstantinos
