Scooot
I saw my first fireball last night, at least that's what I think it was, it was much more than a shooting star. I woke up at about 2am and decided to make a drink. I looked out of the kitchen door window to see how clear it was, and almost immediately it shot south past the right side of Orion. It was only a couple of seconds and was white, like a shooting star, but I could see the large bulge at the front looking very much like a burning object and the comet shaped tail following in its wake. It was an extraordinary coincidence that it appeared at the time I peered out of the window, and I've never seen anything quite like it before. Did anyone else see it? Davey-T
No missed it, I did have a look out the window at Venus and Jupiter at some time in the early morning, lovely clear sky.Dave
Scooot
Yes I woke again at 6ish and had a quick look at them with my bins in my dressing gown. They looked great and I fancied trying to image them but didn't have enough time before sunrise.
