Been cloudy for so long that I've not had a chance to take any pictures for a while.

Was surprised and delighted to get up this morning to actually see some stars so thought I had better make the most of it and take a picture.

Suppose it's not bad with just a D7000 and 55-200mm lens.

Nice! Out of curiosity was this a single shot, or a stacked shot of a larger number of shots? If it was a single shot what exposure time did you use please?

Just a single shot at 200mm, ISO 6400 and 5 seconds at f5.6.

Would have no idea how to do stacked shots............well not yet anyway!

Thanks for the response. I've not got a DSLR, but I do have a Canon Powershot SX410 IS and managed to get a decent shot at the moon at full zoom. Might try a wider shot of Orion too on the next clear night and see if I can snap it too! Cheers!
