EQMOD guiding

Is the guiding option in eqmod a stand alone application or does it need something like PHD aswell. As far  as I can understand (which is not a lot ) pulse guiding is done in eqmod and st4 is done through another application. If it is different then I would be grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction. Thank you in advance...........Geoff

Yes, you need PHD2, EQMOD is the interface between hardware & software, which takes the movement instructions from PHD2 & either issues ST4 commands or pulse commands dependent on what you've selected...

I use PHD2 and EQMod to pulse guide, just a USB connection required.....there's info in the EQMod manual on what to click on to get it working....

You need also ASCOM  intalled for communication with your mouting.

Actually you don't need EQMOD to control the mouting. PHD does it. The difference is that EQMOD has many others adjustment that improve guiding task.

I use and I like very much EQMOD.  You must read the manual to understant the controls and to get the best performance.
