Poor stars can this image be saved?

Took this image a couple of months ago with astrotrac, Bork and Canon rebel. Just given it i a quick stretch, cropped to the main business and saved to jpeg to save space. We obviously got something wrong in alignment or there was a screw loose in the mounting, you can see the stars are all elongated. My question is can some processing save this image?

My preferred processing software is Pixinsight, though I also have photoshop.

You can remove the stars make them round and put them back, nebula will still be out of focus but overall image will look better.

Sort of thing I do by trial and error so can't really explain it clearly, need to select stars in PS and make star layer mask, PI has probably got a better way of doing it, there are some good PI tutorials around, some here

Try Focus Magic PS plug-in. http://www.focusmagic.com/  It has a great 'motion blur' correction mode.  I find it works particularly well if you apply fade>lighten immediately after the correction.
