Dark Night Tonight :)

I was just out tonight testing a few techniques and it was the darkest night I've had since getting my set-up in the summer.

This was only a 30s exposure of M57, couldn't believe how bright it was for this length of exposure. It was a bit out of focus unfortunately.

Nicely done. Focus tends to be an assumed fact in imaging, but is one of the more challenging aspects when starting out I found, especially with DSLR imaging. If you don't have one, a bahtinov mask is a great, cheap investment which won't push you much past £720 . You then use it on a nearby bright star (in this case Vega), get spot on focus and then slew to the target and in theory, you should be in great shape for the session.

I really hope we get a good clear sky tonight as i would like to test imagimg on my new set up dont think mine will be anywhere near that good
