September 9, 2015: Filaments galore, and a nice prom

Just had a morning tea break in the September sun, with the SolarMax-II 60mm scope. Seeing is pretty decent at the moment, and a wealth of filaments is visible at the moment. A small sunspot east of centre almost gets overlooked. A few small but bright proms adorn the eastern limb. Hopefully some new ARs are lurking there. A much bigger prom is visible northwards on the western limb. If the skies remain clear I may even get a chance to image the sun this afternoon

Had another go during lunch. Much the same, but I also noted two bright plage areas on the south eastern disk.

Nice to see someone has Sun Michael, promised some here but they keep moving the goalposts, looks like it will appear at 8.00pm now
