egg shaped stars.

hi all, 

i`ve been getting some strange egg shaped stars that i can`t seem to recertify, i`ve taken everything out of the imaging train apart from the scope and the camera, i`ve spent time making sure the focus is as good as i can get it and have noticed that when i rotate the camera in the scope the point on the egg shape stars rotates with the camera so i`m fairly sure it has something to do with the camera but i can`t think what, i`ve also done my best to make sure the camera is square in the scope focuser but the image still comes out the same.

any help please.

Maybe your focuser is slightly askew?

It has been known for the sensor not to be square to the camera body, maybe you could get a replacement if it's still under guarantee.

i thought that at first but i`ve got it square on the scope and tightened up as i don`t need to rotate it or anything like that.

that seems to be a thought Dave, it`s not very old, thae camera being a 414 ex.

It doesn't look like tilt to me. Can we see a copy of an original fit file?
