How do you "mod" an 1100D?

Saw a load of very nice pictures on the thread;

Anyone got any 1100D modded images to share ?

Have a whole bunch of questions.

I have a second hand 1100D that I bought to eventually get into AP.

What exactly is/are the "mods"?

How can I tell whether my 1100D has been "modded".

If not how do I go about "modding" it?

The mod involves removing  one or more of the various filter layers that are fitted infron tof the camera's sensor (depending on what your looking to achieve)

A modded camera without using a custom white balance will produce  pink  tinted images when shooting a white target in daylight...

Psyco sums it up there, most important of all if you decide to mod it yourself is to be organised and patient, it's a pretty straight forward procedure if you use Gary's guide. I've modded 2 Canons so far with no problems and I'm no electrical specialist ! ( once wired up a new kitchen light fitting, only to find that somehow I'd crossed wires somewhere, turning the light on made the living room lights go out and vice versa !!)
