How long for a 80mm

I have heard that the rule of thumb for poor seeing is that you stay up until the hour matches the diameter of your telescope in meters. But what about little scopes?

You been drinking that funny Swedish beer again ?

In the UK it is really: If it is clear then observe, you may never get the chance again for a LONG time.

I agree with Ronin. There were a lot of clouds when I went out last night, but I started looking at the space between the clouds with my 15x70 bins. Later, most of the sky cleared. There were always some clouds. I seized the moment.

Yes. Agree with the guys above. If seeing is poor. Point the scope higher and choose a new set of targets.

This is how I only saw 4 Persids last night (they were proper smokers though)

Never heared about the diameter of scope rule.
