Electric focuser for Lyra Optics

Hi guys just to let anyone know who wants to add an electric focuser to the Lyra that this one fits and works perfectly although it is quite expensive

Looks a nice unit but as you say, a bit pricey, i would guess the skywatcher one would also fit, have you fitted one to your Lyra

Hi Jules the Skywatcher one doesn't fit ,I tried, and yes I have fitted the Rigel one and it was made for it and fits perfectly

Can't you just go to a model shop and buy an electric motor and then add some gearing and battery?

All these electric focusing motors are wayyy overpriced.

I expect you could it's being able to secure it to the telescope firmly that would be the problem unless you were good at making brackets etc

Sounds like a 3D printer is a great asset for astronomy equipment given these prices
