How can I improve my planetary shots ?

Recommended Posts

Looks pretty good so cannot think of anything simple.

A better scope may help but define better?

Not sure if a better camera would help, a canon 450d is still just a DSLR camera and not a specific astrophotography item.

Need someone that had made the change to offer their insight.

It's hard to tell. Dedicated planetary camera could allow more clearer/sharper images either due to better control or lack of compression. That picture of Jupiter lacks fine detail so that could be fixed. To get bigger and more detailed shots bigger aperture would be needed (as well as the camera).

Personally I would get a dedicated planetary imaging camera. Something like the ASI 120MC or the QHY 5L IIc. Both have been showing very good results from members and they aren't going to break the bank!

That is a very good image btw. Especially as DSLRs compress the video files to get the fps rate.
