Here are my first attempts with my new (well, second hand) Lodestar mono (not X2) and the wonderful Lodestar Live V0.11. All of these taken with my 8" f6 newt with 0.5x Focal Reducer and Baader Neodymium filter.

One thing is obvious - median stacking gives far superior results to sum stacking in my not-too dark skies in the centre of Canterbury.

Absolutely amazed what this little thing can do in conjunction with LL though, and I'm sure things will only improve once I've got used to it. Looking forward to making good use of this at public outreach events with my Astro society.

Cheers!

I'm actually really surprised how sensitive it is! Even without any stacking, a 30s exposure picks up an incredible range of objects. With stacking, the situation only improves.

I love the fact that as a live viewing method, you get an almost immediate result, then whilst people are oooohing and aaahing, the image is getting on with improving :)

Obviously last one is actually the Owl Nebula, not M101 - forgot to change the target details!

What a camera and what a piece of software!
