Different Exposure time needs different Dark times?

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

I just want to know the following. If you shoot say X20 Lights 240seconds Iso800 AND X20 Lights 60seconds Iso800 do i need to make two different time sets for my draks too?

I shot last night at those times and only shot X20 Darks at 240seconds and Iso800.

Is this the incorrect method or will it work?

Regards

Dave do I have to shoot two sets of Darks? Once that are 240seconds long and a second set that is 60 seconds long?

Yes, you only need about 16.

And try to do them at the same time to get roughly the same temperature

In truth the mismatch in real temperature makes DSLR darks pretty hit and miss and some people find that a master bias and dither does a better job than darks. I'd do some experimenting.
