ASI/Firecapture autoguiding???

Hi all:

I would like to try the autoguide feature in Firecapture with my ASI 120mm camera.  Would this keep planet centered on screen? Do I use the one cable from camera to laptop and the other cable from the camera to laptop or telescope port to laptop? If hooked up to camera will it automatically  set up ascom driver or do I have to install it?

Sorry for all the questions but this is all new to me.

Plug camera into mount, plug laptop into camera , in fire capture click settings - hardware ? Choose on camera st4 , press the green bit and it should connect ... You'll then have 4 arrows in capture window . Also select auto guide .

Not tried it yet but had a play indoors last weekend

Now I seem to have misplaced that ST-4 cable.  Would a RJ12 6P6C telephone cable work to hook ASI camera up to Celestron 9.25SCT guide port?

Standard telephone cables don't have enough of the pins wired in for guiding, check if there is a wire going to each pin. Since phones only use two pins there may only be two wires, if that is the case it won't work.
