An impromptu Jupiter

My 2 yr old daughter woke at 4.30 this morning with a wet bed - so much for night time dry 'pull up' nappies... anyway after a full bed, nappy and pyjama change she went back to sleep and I took a quick peek out the window.. a completely clear sky with Jupiter blazing away just over the SE of the garden.

I hurriedly got dressed and got the kit out! Only got half an hour outside before the sun came up and washed it all away But here is my first efforts at Jupiter with this scope. The last time i saw Jupiter was last year and it was very low in the south west and I had an old Meade etx60, so this is the first time I've actually seen banding/detail on the planet... another magnificent sight, definitely up there with my first view of Saturn in this scope.

Nice work LaVey! You've certainly captured quite a lot of detail, well done - especially on getting up so early (though sounds like you had some help!).
