DSS and Windows 8.1

Hi,

I've just bought a new desktop  PC, specced to run Photoshop and Deep Sky Stacker with drizzle. It has Windows 8.1.

I've downloaded both old (v3.3.2) and new (v3.3.4 which accepts Canon RAW files without conversion to DNG) but neither will open. They ran fine on my laptop which is Windows 8.0.

Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a fix or is it a basic incompatibility with 8.1?

I had this problem too. In the end I got it to work by loading DSS 3.4 via Widzip 7. There is a link in this thread:

Thanks for replies, I solved the problem by right-clicking on the DSS icon and selecting Properties. There's a Compatability tab which runs a troubleshooter and does whatever is needed to let the program run.
