April 9, 2015: Morning tea-break in H-alpha

Recommended Posts

Just had a little session with the Coronado SolarMax-II 60 over morning tea. A couple of colleagues dropped in for a look, and they were in for a real treat. A massive hedgerow has developed on the eastern limb, and a long filaprom is visible to the south. Another large prom is blossoming on the northwestern limb. The disk is showing several filaments, and two huge active bands of plage, filaments and the odd sunspot north and in particular south of the solar equator. I really hope the weather holds and I can do some imaging this afternoon when I get home.

Well worth a look (and will have another look during lunch, weather permitting)
