200P - EQ5 or Dob ? - First Scope Choice

I like the idea of the flex tube because it will be easier to transport, but I'm worried I'll have to fiddle with it loads to get it aligned properly

I wouldn't say you are worrying and you are right to do your research. It will pay off. I was surprised how quick and easy it was to use the Flextube design. Regarding collimation remember you can practice it ad infinitum inside anytime so that if you feel the need to tweak it on a bright star when you are at a dark site it will be second nature. You may wish to budget for a shroud if you go the Flextube route to cut down any light interference. I can't comment on the improvement it makes as my Dob came with one third hand so it has never been without it.

yea ive been looking at those shrouds, i think for me it would probably be essential, i dont exactly live out in the sticks so ill have some light pollution most of the time
