California Nebula

Not done any astrophotography for some time, due to weather & work commitments.

Had a go at this over a few nights in Feb.

About 3 hrs in Ha & 4 hrs in SII (although SII signal still very weak)

Didn’t seem to be any OIII in the nebula so I dint try to capture any.

Processed in Pixinsight. Used the LRGB tool and mapped Ha to lum & red, SII to green & blue.

First time I have done the complete process in Pixinsight, still struggle with some of the workflow but having a powerfull PC to do the processing helps as it allows you to try multiple settings / iterations without taking too much time.

Good work, but I think you will struggle to find any OIII in this, I tried and gave up - eventually settling on the red colour your have in yours. Another couple of hours in Ha would do a good job in bringing out some of the darker features.
